This evidence brief outlines the effective design and implementation elements in interventions to prevent violence against women and girls emanating from the UKAID-funded What Works to Prevent Violence against Women and Girls Global Programme, reflecting on the theory of change, contextual appropriateness, length and intensity, pedagogical methods, and selection and training of staff and volunteers who implement the intervention. We show that with rigorously designed and implemented interventions, we can prevent violence.
This report presents a high-level synthesis of existing evidence and practice on CRSV and other forms of VAWG in conflict affected settings, based on a detailed literature review and consultations with humanitarian stakeholders and survivors’ groups and networks. It identifies entry points from the evidence that can be used to shape effective efforts by the humanitarian and women, peace, and security (WPS) communities to prevent CRSV. Despite the evidence gaps, the insights from research and practice show that CRSV is not an inevitable consequence of conflict and can be prevented.
Les résultats de la recherche et de la pratique montrent que la violence sexuelle liée aux conflits n'est pas une conséquence inévitable des conflits et qu'elle peut être prévenue. Ce dossier vise à aider les décideurs à comprendre " ce qui marche ". Il est basé sur une synthèse de haut niveau des preuves et des pratiques existantes en matière de violence sexuelle liée aux conflits (CRSV) et de violence plus large contre les femmes et les filles (VAWG) dans les contextes affectés par les conflits, complétée par des consultations avec les parties prenantes humanitaires et les groupes et réseaux de survivants.
