Co-Lead, External Engagement and Influencing, Social Development Direct

Lusungu is a Feminist Gender technical expert with 13+ years’ global experience in women's rights work focusing on advocacy and influencing for the prevention of violence against women and girls, gender‑transformative programme design, safeguarding, and tailored capacity‑strengthening (training, technical accompaniment, facilitation). Lusungu works as a GBV principal consultant with Social Development Direct. 

She has worked with dynamic organisations from grassroots to international NGOs - including ActionAid, World Education Inc/Bantwana, The Prevention Collaborative and Jesuit Refugee Service.  Lusungu currently serves on various international boards including; as Co‑Chair of Womankind Worldwide Board and as Board Secretary for Fos Feminista (global alliance of 250+ organisations).

Personally, Lusungu is a Co-Curator of Feministing While African, an online safe space for African feminists. She is also Co Creator of the award winning ‘Feministing While Malawian’ podcast and Creator and host of the ‘And The Women Came’ Podcast.
