This latest Practice-Based Learning Brief consolidates key learning from Grantee and consortium partners of the What Works II programme on working with governments in VAWC prevention programmes. Through a series of interviews and workshops, representatives from six different organisations identified five lessons they consider crucial foundations for effectively working with governments:
Lesson 1: Conduct political analysis and develop a strategic approach
Lesson 2: Build credibility and legitimacy with the government
Lesson 3: Build and nurture relationships with government
Lesson 4: Strengthen government buy-in to the programme
Lesson 5: Embed continuity and sustainability strategies
