CISP aims to combat poverty and address human rights violations. Within Somalia, CISP is actively engaged in various programs spanning from education, to health, nutrition, and protection. CISP will work in partnership with local Women Rights Organizations, the Somali Women Development Centre (SWDC) and Women Initiative for Social Empowerment (WISE), and through strong collaboration with key ministries in Somalia who play a crucial role in addressing these issues.
CISP’s What Works funded intervention is designed to reduce violence against women, boys, and girls through creating empowered communities and safer environments within and around schools. The strategy to achieve this goal includes adapting the Communities Care (CC) community-based model for preventing and responding to sexual violence against girls and women in conflict-affected settings and expanding it in schools in Somalia and will work with adolescent girls and boys in schools at high risk of violence.
